Paper-based
SPE

For the production of paper-based electrodes, screen printing technology is combined with solid ink printing, such as wax.

This technology allows the creation of hydrophobic (wax) zones around hydrophilic (paper) areas, where the electrochemical cell can be printed and the reagents and solutions to be analyzed can be applied.

Using paper as a substrate for sensor production offers multiple advantages due to its unique characteristics. Being flexible and lightweight, paper enables the creation of sensors that can be easily integrated into various applications, including wearable devices and environmental monitoring systems.

Additionally, paper is inexpensive and abundant, making sensors more accessible and sustainable. Its ability to be processed using printing techniques, such as screen printing, allows for the production of low-cost electrodes and circuits while maintaining excellent conductivity.

Thanks to the availability of different types of paper, each with specific characteristics, it is possible to create customized sensors for various applications.
